Zebra mussels negate or mask the increasing effects of nutrient enrichment on algal biomass: a preliminary mesocosm study

   Abstract

Phosphorus enrichment increased algal biomass in mesocosms without zebra mussels. However, with zebra mussels, there were no differences in algal biomass between controls and mesocosms that received 150 µg P/L.
